Tom Nichols is the Global Brand Protection Investigations Supervisor for General Motors in Detroit, Michigan. In his current role, Tom oversees GM’s brand protection program to protect customers by identifying, investigating and removing counterfeit products that infringe upon GM’s brands, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC and ACDelco, amongst others. He works closely with US and international law enforcement organizations, including Homeland Security Investigations, Customs and Border Protection, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center. Tom is an executive board member of the US-based Automotive Anti-Counterfeiting Council (A2C2) whose mission is to safeguard the public from counterfeit automotive parts. Tom also has corporate and government experience implementing security policies, providing intelligence analysis for decision making, managing travel security programs and supporting executive protection operations. Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his master’s degree from the Catholic University of America.
