A qualified Chinese patent attorney and attorney at law with an EE background, Mr. Wang has been in IP profession for 12 years.  Mr. Wang started his IP career as a patent attorney in the largest IP firm in mainland China and Hong Kong. Then, he moved to the Shanghai Office of a US international law firm and worked there as an IP specialist, until he joined 3M China as an IP counsel in 2011.  

While working in the firms, Mr. Wang represented MNCs, Chinese companies, and research institutions on various IP matters (especially patent matters) , including patent drafting and prosecution, patent reexamination and invalidation, patent litigation, counseling on FTO and  patentability, and IP due diligence for business transactions.  Now, as an in-house IP counsel, aside from handling above-mentioned non-contentious and contentious patent matters, his job responsibilities also include patent mining and deployment planning, patent licensing, IP agreement / clause drafting and review, trade secret management and related investigation, IP strategy formulation, standard setting-related counseling, etc.

As a patent attorney, Mr. Wang have worked in a wide spectrum of technical areas, such as electrical engineering, electronics and semiconductors, computer and network engineering, telecommunications, software and algorithms, signal processing, medical devices, optical components and systems, etc. He especially has extensive experiences in providing comprehensive IP protection for software-related innovations.

作为一名具有电学背景的中国专利代理人和律师，王丹昕在一家中国最大的知识产权事务所开始其知识产权职业生涯。之后，他加入一家美国国际律师事务所，直到于2011年作为知识产权顾问加入3M中国有限公司。

在事务所工作时，王丹昕代表许多跨国公司、中国公司和研究机构处理了许多IP事务（特别是专利事务），包括专利撰写和申请、专利复审和无效、专利诉讼、有关自由实施和专利性的咨询、以及为商业交易进行的知识产权尽职调查。现在，作为一名企业知识产权顾问，除处理上述非争议性和争议性专利事务以外，他也从事专利挖掘和布局、专利许可、知识产权合同/条款的起草和审核、商业秘密的管理和相关调查、知识产权战略制定、标准制定相关咨询等工作。

作为一名专利律师，王丹昕工作的技术领域包括例如电气工程、电子与半导体、计算机和网络工程、通信、软件及算法、信号处理、医疗器械、光学器件及系统，等等。他尤其在为软件相关创新提供全面知识产权保护方面具有丰富的经验。
